According to the CDC, mental health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”1 It is estimated that only about 17% of U.S adults are considered to be in a state of optimal mental health. Positive outlook, purposeful action and understanding you, will help in creating the forward, positive mental outlook.
I have had to get through many different aspects in my life that I never truly understood how or why. I questioned “why the hell this happened to me” or “what was the point?” These questions only led me to distrust, misunderstanding and darkness. Somehow, my mind didn’t allow that for long. It slapped my gray brain matter into place and said, “move forward & stop feeling sorry for something that doesn’t change.” We are the only ambassador of our lives and if we give up it is over. Think on that one.
